Pokémon Platinum is the enhanced version of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, set in the expansive Sinnoh region. Players assume the role of a Pokémon Trainer journeying to become the Champion, capture wild Pokémon, thwart the plans of the nefarious Team Galactic, and uncover the secrets of the Legendary Pokémon Giratina in its mysterious Distortion World. The game expands the core Pokémon formula with an improved story, additional forms (including Giratina’s Origin Forme), new locations, expanded Pokédex availability, and enhanced battle features like the Battle Frontier. With turn-based combat, deep collection mechanics, and trading/battling support via local wireless and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (while active), Pokémon Platinum delivers one of the richest handheld RPG experiences in the series.
